SWIM BOOKING RECOMMENDED
Due to the demand for swimming sessions, our booking system apply:
- Indoor Pools during school holidays and weekends.
- Outdoor Pool during the whole opening season (30 March - 29 September)
If the Teaching Pool reaches capacity, a 1 in 1 out system may be in place. Swimming sessions are 90 minutes and a 24 hour notice period is required for any cancellations.

- Indoor Pools Bookings is from 9am weekdays, 11am Saturday and from 10am on Sunday
- Outdoor pool Bookings is from 9am 7 days a week

Pools for Fun & Fitness
Whether swimming for fun or fitness, our pools offer a great swimming experience for every member of the family. With a 25 metre indoor fitness pool, heated outdoor pool, teaching and toddler pools, Tonbridge Swimming Pool caters for all swimmers.
Due to the popularity of sessions at the weekend and school holidays we recommend that you pre-book. All sessions are 90 minutes long and a 24 hour notice period is required for any cancellations.
You can pay as you go, or take out one of our all-inclusive Memberships for unlimited access to the Pools and Spa.
Fitness, Teaching & Toddler Pools
Our 25 metre Fitness Pool offers is perfect for improving suppleness, strength and stamina. Lane swimming and water-based exercise classes are organised throughout the week, as well as early morning, Primetimers 50+, ladies and adults only sessions.
The Teaching Pool is great for gaining water confidence. There are public swimming sessions every day as well as Adults & Child Fun sessions and swimming courses. The very young can enjoy a splashing time on the slide and in the shallow water of the Toddler Pool.
We also offer use of SWIMTAG in the Fitness Pool to Gym & Spa Members. Suitable for every level of swimmer, SWIMTAG records all of your swims allowing you to monitor your progress, set personal challenges and even take part in online competitions. The interactive training tool allows you to set specific targets based on calories, distance, speed or lengths allowing you to work to your personal goals whether that’s weight loss, stamina or swimming progression. Both the Fitness and Teaching pools are available for your private use during the weekend. The Teaching Pool is ideal for children 8 years and under and includes a range of floats and toys to provide extra fun and games. Those over 8 years can enjoy a inflatable pool party which includes a giant inflatable in the Fitness Pool, with obstacles to challenge the most energetic of children. Find out more.
We aim to keep the pool temperatures within the following ranges:
Fitness Pool: 26 – 29°c
Outdoor Pool: 26 – 29°c
Teaching Pool: 30 – 32°c
Toddler Pool: 31 – 33°c
Outdoor Pool
Our unique Outdoor Pool is open from April to September. This superb heated pool has a water arch and beach area . It’s a great place to meet with friends and family, enjoy a splashing time and grab something delicious food to eat! Booking band system will operate and customers will be limited to a maximum 90 minute stay. Please note you can either book the outdoor pool or indoor pools seperately.
Aqua Exercise Classes
We run a programme of water-based exercise classes throughout the week. All of these sessions are led by qualified instructors and aim to tone and strengthen the body. Gym Spa and Priorty Card Holders can use the online booking service to reserve their favourite exercise class.
Aqua Aerobics is an excellent fitness class which uses the water to tone and shape the body safely and effectively. These invigorating sessions are suitable for all fitness levels and age groups. Sessions take place on Monday and Thursday 7pm to 8pm and Wednesday and Friday 11am to 12 noon. During the Outdoor Pool season, Outdoor Aqua is also on the timetable.
Swim Fit is designed for those wishing to improve their fitness through swimming. This structured session is led by a qualified swim instructor, who will advise on specific training programmes to meet individual needs and focus on improving strength, stamina and stroke technique. Session runs on Monday from 8pm to 9pm.
Swim for Health is a session for everyone, with the added benefit of a referral qualified aquatic helper. Ideal for those with low fitness levels, long-term health conditions or disabilities, or those wanting to improve water confidence. Enjoy physical activity in a safe and social environment. Participants may self-refer.

Adult & Child Fun Sessions
What better way to have fun during the week at one of our Adult & Child Fun Sessions. Taking place in the Teaching Pool, this fun session for adults and children 10 years and under, features large mats and lots of water toys. In addition to our child admission ratios, 4 to 7 year olds must have passed the Competent to Swim Test. Standard swimming prices apply.
For safety reasons numbers are limited.
Swimming Lessons
Our Swim School takes swimmers on a journey, from the first splash at four months old to developing confidence and competence in the water. The weekly lessons and intensive holiday courses help both juniors and adults to learn how to enjoy the water in complete safety. One to one and one to two lessons are also available for personal instruction.
